Gathering Storm - Wheel of Time

by j.tan
October 23rd, 2009

It’s written by Brandon Sanderson, but it’s to finish off the Wheel of Time series.

“Finish off” is misleading in some ways. Rather, let’s say that “Gathering Storm” is the 1st book of the trilogy that will finish off the Wheel of Time series. :)

And yes, we’ve got it now. :)

WE’VE GOT HIDDEN CITY!!!!

by j.tan
March 24th, 2009

We’ve also got other books (delivery of 6 boxes!), but it’s Michelle Sagara’s Hidden City that I’m very excited about! :D

I read it in hardcover and it was absolutely freaking awesomely fantastic!
And now its in paperback and everybody else can get it and enjoy it too!!!

Come on in and pick up a copy when you can :D

Our shelves are full!

by j.tan
March 6th, 2009

Yes!

We did get our deliveries!
Gotten several gazillion over a fairly short period of time, to be honest. But our shelves are full again, and now with NEW books!

Click here to view our Feb catalogue (yes the March one is slightly over due).

Some of the more interesting stuff that have come in though…
Bone Crossed
The new Mercy Thompson book by the ever awesome Patricia Briggs.

Undone
It’s a new series by Rachel Caine that is set in her world of the Weather Wardens. If its anything like those, its going to be chock full of magic, adventure, sarcasm and pure unadulterated fun.

Accord
I’m reading this at the moment, and I am really REALLY enjoying how Keith Brook writes… I’ll say a bit more about it once I’ve actually finished.

Shadow Queen
This is another book set in the world of the Black Jewels and part of the reason why I’ve yet to finish reading Accord… Switching between two books is distracting… :D

There are some new stuff arriving in March, and we’ll get the new March books up Soon™.
In the mean time… Check out these Feb stuff!

The Saga of Jan 09

by j.tan
January 30th, 2009

We’ve had a *BAD* Jan 09.

Various little reasons, the biggest one (and the most important one to you guys as readers and customers), is a massive stuff up with our courier *AND* our distributors.
Basically, the distributors have misplaced about 4 of our purchase orders, and our courier company has lost 12 boxes, which now need to be re-ordered through the distributors again…

No names named…
But the net effect, is that we’ve had basically zero new books in the whole month of Jan, and almost no restocks.

And there have been a few other non-stock-related issues as well… >.<

So.
If you’ve been wondering why our shelves have been a bit bare, if you’ve been wondering why we haven’t posted here, its because we haven’t had anything positive to say. :(

*BUT*
It’s a new month in about 2 days time, so let’s hope things get significantly better! :D

Hope you’re enjoying (or at least not suffering too much) under this heat! I know I’m hating it. ;)

Cheers
Jonathan

Jennifer Fallon’s Tide Lords

by j.tan
January 30th, 2009

If you can live forever…
If you HAVE lived forever…
You’ve done everything that is possible under the sun…
You have gained the skills and the abilities to be able to learn and do anything new that might eventually appear under the sun…
If you have the power such that you can magically do everything you ever wish you could do…

Then what will you do next…?

In Cayal the Immortal Prince’s case… He chose to die.
But as you can imagine. It isn’t that easy for an Immortal to die…

Jennifer Fallon is a top rate Australian author. She’s always had a different style of fantasy writing, and now her skill and her story telling are truly blooming and are showcased here in her latest series: The Tide Lords.

Comprising of four books, The Immortal Prince; The Gods of Amyrantha; The Palace of Impossible Dreams; and The Chaos Crystal, the Tide Lords have long been in hiding as the magical Tide that grants them their powers has been out. So long they have been in hiding, that the humans treat them as myths, and the only people that still remember and believe in them are the half-human slaves that were created for the sole purpose of serving the Tide Lords all those ages ago…

But now as the Tide returns, deeper and more powerful than it ever has in the past, the Tide Lords start to stir from their shadows, beginning to scheme and to plot to place themselves at the head of humanity again, and in position to rule the world of Amyrantha all over again.

And in their glee and desire to conquer all, they will turn their collective sights against Cayal… For he seeks a way to die. And if his mortality is rendered true, then the rest of the Tide Lords too, can die, and they have no desire to ever be able to do so…

If you haven’t realise yet… THIS IS WELL WORTH READING!!! ;)

December Cometh!

by j.tan
November 30th, 2008

And with December, comes our list of new books!

For the record, we DON’T have these books yet. These are what we are expecting to arrive sometimes in December.
If you did want something, let us know, or place an order through the store, we’ll let you know the moment it comes in.

If you wanted something specifically as a X’mas present for a friend or family member (or from a friend or family member), again, let us know early so we can ensure that we’ll have it ready for you (or them).

Cheers!

MOAR BOOKZ

November 25th, 2008

I sometimes wonder if writing in Internet lingo affects my credibility as a reader.

Ah well, too late now.

Books! We got more!
As always, give us a call if you wanted us to put any aside for you.

Mechanicum
It’s the 9th book in the Horus Heresy. All I know is that Warhammer 40k fans are loving this stuff.

Perfect Circle

Succubus takes Manhattan
Delightful fun, I think a customer described the first book as. All I know is that people who read the first (Succubus in the City) have been asking about the arrival of the second. So presumably they liked it. ;)

Black Magic Woman

Night of the Dragon
Another World of Warcraft book. The franchise is doing well, and the lore has always been interesting! Worth reading if you’re playing the game.
